Reuters, CNBC Report Armstrong Analysis on Canada Wildfires
August 11, 2017 – Two major media outlets reported last month’s Armstrong Investment Research analysis of wildfires in British Columbia, and their potential disruption of timber operations, softwood lumber supply and impact on prices.
As forestry companies including West Fraser Timber, Tolko and Norbord suspended production during the fires, A.I.R. founder and president James Armstrong was quoted by Reuters, Reuters Business Insider, and CNBC saying the shutdowns would exacerbate the low supply for an already tight market.
"The question is what happens longer term," Armstrong said in the articles. "We don't know what happens with the fire yet. Longer term, if it misses the mill and doesn't do much, it probably won't have a huge impact."
Armstrong’s analysis was also picked up by ForestPress, India’s Daily News & Analysis, and other online agencies.
